I have viewed other blogs and I see that I have a lot to learn! On the positive side, I am feeling more open to incorporating more technology into my classroom. I think many "middle aged" people (those of us who did not grow up with computers) have had the same negative experiences I have. When I first worked with computers, one could actually lose all the data with a touch of a key! There were no back-up systems as there are now. No wonder I am so anxious when leaning new programs.
I loved the example of the steam engines being built into sailboats. Technology is here to stay and is changing at a dramatic pace; we teachers have no other options other than to accept it, embrace it, and enjoy it.

I actually got a degree in computer technology and I'm surprise at how much things have changed since I graduated. I have a long way to go, too!
Technology is definitely here to stay and is changing everybody's world. The most we explore it the most we like it.
I share that feeling with you, it's frustrating when you loose you data. I remember also when I was taking classes long time ago and my classmates (older than me) where so afraid of tounching the keyboard and now look at the kids, we (teachers) are the ones afraid of them touching everything. : )
Always Learning! I love your Voki. It is cute! :)
Embrace it, love it, learn with it, learn from it, and most important- enjoy it. So glad to see you are taking this journey with us :)
I enjoyed what you wrote. I congratulate myself for having such colleagues as you.
A new school year in a different campus is awaiting but a renovated spirit and commitment(due to these tools) will make us stronger!!
Karen,
Since we are both "baby boomers" I know exactly how you feel. Your comment could have come out of my mouth. It is very exciting and maybe just a little scary , this technology stuff.
I love the cat, by the way. I just listened to what she had to say and my dogs, who are downstairs, started barking! Ha, we fooled them!
Karen, you have accomplished what I believe to be one of the hardest things in blogging. I congratulate you on the LOOK of your blog. It is a genuine (and creative) reflection of you as a person. Don't sell yourself short, my friend. You have a lot to offer our learning community.
Karen I'm so impressed with all that you've done! Very encouraging to all of us. Congratulations!!
Karen, I have a lot to learn as well. Time is always evolving, so we will have to change with the time. It will be okay! Good job so far!
